AutoPets, the manufacturer of the Litter Robot smart cat box, has received $31 million in equity financing from Chicago-based Pondera Holdings.
The capital will be used to fuel expansion and to provide a payout to its founders, Brad and Jim Baxter. Brad Baxter started the company in 1999, when he inherited two cats, but didn’t enjoy scooping out the litter box.
AutoPets debuted a new product, Feeder Robot, at CES 2020. Feeder Robot is a WiFi-enabled cat feeder that can be controlled by a mobile app.
