The company produces CatKit, a genetic test that helps cats owners learn about their cat’s breed, health, traits and habits. The company also offers Coach My Cat, a feline coaching service that gives customers unlimited access to vet technicians.

The company was founded by Anna Skaya. Aaron Hirschhorn, the founder of DogVacay (pet sitting service) and Gallant (stem cell banking for dogs), is a member of the board.

Basepaws appeared on Shark Tank in 2019 and received a $250,000 investment for 10% of the company from Robert Herjavec and Kevin O’Leary.
