Unisys, the large old school tech company, has created an app that allows pet parents to monitor their pet’s condition in the aircraft cargo hold. The app is called Digi-Pet and also offers live stream video, photos and voice exchange. However, Digi-pet is not directly available for any travelling pet – it is sold by Unisys to air cargo carriers, who then must implement the app for their customers. Digi-Pet is currently being rolled out to 20 carriers in the Asia Pacific area. United airlines will want to get this app as soon as it can, in light of reports that more dogs die on it’s planes than any other airline.
